The New White, 2018
12 ceramic plates, 30.5cm diameter / each plate
The New White consists of twelve ceramic plates featuring the same kitchenware style, where traditional hand-painted landscape images are integrated with a modern design. Through the use of Chinese Blue and White porcelain, I explore themes of globalization, mass production, the 'Made in China' phenomenon, and the associated threats not only to traditional culture and craftsmanship but also to the natural environment.
