inkjet print, family archives, found objects
Dundee" is a research-based project initiated in 2016. Located in the southwestern corner of the Montérégie region in Québec, Canada, Dundee is a rural township. Scottish settlers arrived and established themselves in this region around 1800, naming the place after their homeland: Dundee in Scotland. This project focuses on Dundee's historical evolution, delving into the narratives of Scottish migrations. By juxtaposing my photographs with research materials and found objects, I integrate various media from different historical periods. The goal is to bridge the past with the present and create montages that portray Dundee's immigration stories in relation to this land.
