Artist Statement

Nature is both a subject and a teacher in Jin’s practice. Informed by Taoist thought, she approaches the natural world through close observation, attending to subtle changes and invisible forces that shape our experience of it. Her photographs, videos, and installations translate natural rhythms and flows into contemplative visual and spatial experiences.

Her work explores impermanence, transformation, and the interconnectedness of life. For Jin, nature is a source of spiritual and meditative reflection, offering a wider perspective from which to consider human experience. Through her work, she invites a sense of wonder and a deeper awareness of our relationships with other living things and our surroundings. By situating human narratives within the natural world, she seeks connections that extend beyond personal experience and cultural boundaries.

Jin gratefully acknowledges the support of the Canada Council for the Arts and the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (CALQ).

Biographie
